The events currently scheduled for TriviaCon are below. Please note that the schedule is subject to change, and games are regularly being added.

  1. Friday, April 3, 2020

    1. TriviaCon Indoor Street Party / Welcome Mixer

      Best For Individuals

      120 minutes

      Start the weekend off right by mingling with fellow competitors and the Sporcle crew. The street party will feature a standup comedy set by Jeopardy! All-Star, Austin Rogers, where he'll roast all things trivia. We'll have pop-up trivia games, Tipsy Jenga by our friends at Broadly Entertaining, and lots more.

    2. The Opening 100

      Prize: Raffle tickets to be used during Battle of the Brains

      Best For Individuals

      50 minutes

      When the doors open at 4pm, we'll host a ceremonial first quiz featuring 100 questions. This quiz will be written and presented by Paul Paquet.

    3. A Dunder Mifflin Quiz - An Office Themed Trivia Quiz

      Prize: $500 cash pool

      Best For Individuals or Teams

      120 minutes

      Teams will compete in a 50 question quiz all about your favorite Dunder Mifflin employees with the top teams earning cash.

    4. The Mystery Rounds

      Prize: Raffle tickets to be used during Battle of the Brains

      Best For Individuals or Teams

      50 minutes

      Answer four-question quizzes like Before & Afters, This or That, etc. Get all four questions right and you earn a point. Get even one wrong and you get a zero. First team to ten wins.

      Prize: Raffle tickets to be used during Battle of the Brains

      A game in the Sporcle Live pub trivia format where all the questions are audio-based.

    6. List Ten

      Prize: Raffle tickets to be used during the Battle of the Brains

      Best For Individuals or Teams

      50 minutes

      Who are the ten most recent people to host the Oscars? Who are the ten most recent teams to lose a Super Bowl? Get points for each correct response you give, but be careful as you'll lose points for incorrect answers.

    7. Think Different

      Think Different

      Prize: Raffle tickets to be used during the Battle of the Brains

      Best For Individuals or Teams

      50 minutes

      Think Different is a trivia game that you'll need knowledge, intuition, and a little luck to win. Each of the game's questions has multiple answers. Players earn points based on how many of their opponents give the same answer. The more people who think the same way you do, the more points you'll all earn. In this game, however, points are bad - the lowest score wins! Conceived as a play-by-post game on the official Jeopardy! message board, Think Different continues to run on the fan forum at jboard.tv.

      TriviaCon ProAm to Benefit Pancreatic Cancer Research

      Prize: $3,000 cash prize pool

      120 minutes

      The signature event of Saturday night will create multiple four-person teams of random attendees. A trivia pro or celebrity will captain each team. The event will be a six round quiz with each round having a pre-announced theme. Three rounds can be played by the "pro" and then each member of the team will play one other round each. The event will also act as a fundraiser to benefit Pancreatic Cancer Research. We'll be soliciting donations, have silent auctions, and Sporcle will donate an amount based on the total points earned during the event. See our list of pros/team captains here

    2. Trivial Warfare Blitz

      Trivial Warfare Blitz

      Prize: $250 to the Blitz champion

      Best For Individuals

      50 minutes

      Presented by Trivial Warfare, this is a game that values speed under pressure. Three players go head to head in a double elimination game. If you miss on question you're fine, but if you miss two you are eliminated. The last person standing at the end of each game will play against the other winners in a winner take all event.

    3. Attendee Vote Themed Trivia Quiz

      Prize: $500 cash pool

      Best For Individuals or Teams

      120 minutes

      Teams will compete in a 50 question quiz all about the topic that receives the most votes by attendees of TriviaCon. Attendees will be asked to vote during online registration.

    4. The One at TriviaCon - A Friends-Themed Trivia Quiz

      Prize: $500 cash pool

      Best For Individuals or Teams

      120 minutes

      Teams will compete in a 50 question quiz all about your six closest Manhattan-dwelling Friends with the top teams earning cash.

    5. Quizzards Quiz - A Harry Potter Themed Trivia Quiz

      Prize: $500 cash pool

      Best For Individuals or Teams

      120 minutes

      Teams will compete in a 50 question quiz all about Muggles and magic wands with the top teams earning cash.

    6. Point Drop Trivia

      Prize: Raffle tickets to be used during Battle of the Brains

      Best For Individuals or Teams

      50 minutes

      Point Drop Trivia provides difficult questions with four possible answers. Participants have 100 answer tokens per question. They can place all their tokens on one answer or they can break them up on any combination of answers they wish.

    7. No-Letter Hangman

      Prize: Raffle tickets

      Best For Individuals or Teams

      50 minutes

      No spinning for consonants! No buying vowels! Use your trivia and pattern recognition skills to solve the word puzzles game show contestants' nightmares are made of! No-Letter Hangman is presented by Remy Zane of Honolulu, HI.

    8. 20 Seconds

      Prize: Raffle tickets to be used during Battle of the Brains

      Best For Individuals or Teams

      50 minutes

      Twenty songs. The first song is worth 1 point and you get to hear 20 seconds of it. The next song is worth 2 points, and you get to hear 19 seconds of it, and so on. Bonus points are awarded for specific achievements (naming a year, album, song, title, etc.) throughout the game.

    9. Broadly Entertaining Trivia: Quizterical!

      Loosen your corset, let down your hair, and air out those ankles. It's time to show off your knowledge about women in the world! From past to present, pop culture to pure class, properly recognized to profusely rebuffed, we've got 'em all (or at least a good sampling). So find your coven of four and let's get Quizterical!

    10. Majority Rules

      50 minutes

      A game of geniuses and dunces. When a worldwide audience of people take quizzes asking them to name the US Presidents, who do they guess correctly the most often? What about the least often? Majority Rules is all about what you think others know...or don't know!

    1. Battle of the Brains

      The biggest event of the weekend closes out Sunday evening. $20,000 will be awarded. Teams will be pre-determined (you can pick your own teammates or we can help you find some) and will be asked to take a quiz at some point during the weekend. The results of that quiz will place them in a tier of similarly skilled opponents at Battle of the Brains. The higher your tier, the higher your prize pool is. The game format will be unique, and you can expect video, audio, live performance questions, and more. The "Eat, Sleep, Trivia Repeat" Tier - $10,000 Pool The "Pretty Serious About Trivia" Tier - $7,500 Pool The "I Play Pub Trivia More for the Beer" - $5,000 Pool The "I Hope We Don't Finish Last" Tier - $2,500 Pool

    2. Pub Champions Trivia League National Championship

      Prize: $10,000 cash prize pool

      Best For Teams who pre-qualified for this event via a State Championship in 2019

      120 minutes

      This event (and only this event) is only open to teams that finished in the top three in a state championship event competing in the Sporcle Live Pub Champions Trivia League in 2019. There is a $10,000 prize pool for this event. This event will take place at 11 am on Sunday, leaving plenty of time for a brain break before the Battle of the Brains.

    3. Matt & Derek's Quiz Lab Live

      Prize: Raffle tickets to be used during Battle of the Brains

      Best For Individuals

      50 minutes

      The 19-time Emmy Award-winning (not true) YouTube show Matt & Derek's Quiz Lab will be on hand to do a live recording. Drop in and maybe you'll get pulled on to the show!

  4. Events Taking Place on Multiple Days

    1. You Create the Game Challenge

      Prize For Guest Contributors: $1,000 for the creator of the Best Contributed Event

      Prize For Participants: Raffle tickets to be used during Battle of the Brains

      Best for Individuals or Teams

      50-120 minutes each

      Trivia and Puzzle creators are invited to apply to create a game to present at TriviaCon. Throughout the weekend, up to ten different presenters will be given a chance to present their game. Both individuals and companies are invited to apply. A Sporcle Live host can be provided to host the creation if requested. Attendees will vote on their favorite game, and the winner of that vote will win $1,000.

    2. The Eliminator

      Prize: $500 per Eliminator

      Best For Individuals

      50 minutes each

      Join other attendees for a qualification quiz as the event begins. Place in the top 16 scores of that category's quiz, and you move into the bracket to compete in specially-designed Sporcle quizzes in each category. Beat your opponent, and you move on. We keep going until there is only one person left in the bracket. They will be crowned the champion and will receive $500 cash.

    3. Crack the Safe

      Head to the Crack the Safe room and solve trivia-based puzzles that ultimately lead you to a code which unlocks a safe. The safe will contain multiple prizes for the lucky ones who unlock it.

    4. Board Game Play & Win Room

      Prize: Various board games to take home

      Best For Individuals

      Board games don't just bring us together – they remind us how to play. We’ll bring the board games, you bring... yourself!

      Every person who plays a game during TriviaCon will get an opportunity to enter their name into a drawing to take that copy of that game home with them at the end of the weekend! If you play a game, like it, and want a chance to win it in a raffle, simply write your name, game, and cell phone number down. We’ll draw from the entries on Sunday afternoon before Battle of the Brains and text the winners to pick up the game and take it home with them!

    5. Sporcle.com Challenge Stations

      Every 90 minutes or so a different Sporcle.com quiz will be featured and you can take your crack at posting the best score/time. Start practicing your Countries of the World, US Presidents, World Capitals, 151 Original Pokemon and more.

    6. Sporcle.com Showdown Station

      Prize: Various

      Best for Individuals

      50 minutes each

      Compete in a one-on-one showdown with some of the most prolific quiz creators on Sporcle or go head-to-head with some of our Pro-Am Trivia Pros.

    7. Sporcle.com Quiz Room

      Join us any time throughout the weekend to play Sporcle quizzes face-to-face with other users and Sporcle staff. Learn how to make a quiz or improve one you're having trouble with.

    8. Sporcle Live Lounge

      Prize: Raffle tickets to be used during Battle of the Brains

      Best For Individuals or Teams

      50 minutes

      Join some of the nation's top Trivia Hosts as they present themed games of Sporcle Live. Themes include: History, The 80s The 90s, The 00s, Disney, Pop Culture, Anything But Pop Culture, Sports, Music, Science, WWE, and Geography.

    9. Battle of the Brains Placement Quizzes

      Your Battle of the Brains team is required to take this 50-minute quiz at some point during the weekend. There will be multiple oppotunities each day to do so. The results of this quiz will dictate which prize pool tier your team is in for Battle of the Brains on Sunday. If your team chooses to not take the placement quiz, you'll be placed in the lowest prize pool tier.

    10. Panel Discussions

      50 minutes each

      Throughout the weekend we'll host multiple panels. Some include "Help Me Sporcle", "What Makes Good Trivia", "Controversial Topics", "Behind the Game Show Scenes", and more.
