QUIZ GUIDE: Hit/Run Number (HRN) is a sabermetric version of Bill James' Power/Speed Number (PSN). Both measure how well a player hits and runs, but HRN includes the batting, baserunning, and double play (avoidance) runs included in Wins Above Replacement, while PSN includes home runs and stolen bases. (2) HRN = 2 x Bat x (Base + DP) / (Bat + Base + DP). (3) Numbers in parentheses after Hit-Run Number are batting runs / baserunning + double play runs.
