Point total tabulation of positions on the Billboard Hot 100 (or Best Sellers) charts for songs that peaked since July 1955 (prior songs use a slightly different system). #1=100 points, #2=95, #3=93 down to #39=1. Additionally, each subsequent peak week at a position added one point. (First week at #1=100, second=101 etc). Then score was multiplied by the number of total point earning songs that peaked in a year (divided by 100). Small variant on the of methodology as my top 5000 list.
