  • We've all heard the baseball truism: every team will win 50 and lose 50, but it is what they do with the other 62 that matter. In this quiz, I removed 50 wins from every team, divided the remaining wins by 5, and listed that number of players by WAR. So the Athletics with 101 wins have ten listed ((101-50)/5) while the Indians have just two listed ((60-50)/5). Is this the most valuable 150 players from 1971? Maybe, maybe not, but now you understand the quiz.
