In American crosswords, the number of words or letters in an answer is not provided in the clue. Answers may consist of more than one word, a phrase, or occasionally even a combination of words and abbreviations, such as with place names like "STLUCIA" for Saint Lucia.
Here, exceptions are only made for fill-in-the-blank style clues if the blank consists of more than one word, i.e. ["___ just me?" (2 words)]
