Each row and column of the puzzle contains exactly one building of each height. From shortest to tallest, the buildings are A, B, C, D and E.
The numbers at the end of rows/columns tell you how many buildings you'd be able to see if you stood there and looked down that row or column of the grid.
Tall buildings block shorter ones. For example, standing to the left and looking right across the row BCAED, you would only be able to see three buildings.
