C (WI)(WAR 9.01) Most notably, he was a 1x All Star and helped win the 2001 World Series with the Diamondbacks. He was a great defender, as he has the 8th best fielding percentage of all catchers. He was actually a replacement player in 1994, and not a member of the MLBPA.
1B (IA)(WAR 94.27) As a player, he may have been the best player to play before 1900. He's 7th all time in hits, and 4th in RBI (as a member of the Chicago White Stockings/Colts). As a person, he was a jerk playing a major role in keeping African-Americans out of MLB.
2B (WI)(WAR 26.47) He has one of the hardest names to spell, and came up in 1995 for the Expos. He'd retire with 2,040 hits in 2010. He was on the 2003 Cubs and 2005 Cardinals that made the playoffs, but both were stopped in the NLCS.
SS (IA)(WAR 48.54) He was a Hall-of-Fame shortstop who played his whole career in the National League. He started with PHI from 1915-20. Then he went to NYG, where he helped win the 1921 and '22 World Series. Has the same lastname as the famous actress of the movie 'The Graduate.'
3B (WI)(WAR 46.66) A 19th Century hitter who had 2,651 hits, and 1300 RBI and runs scored. Has the same last name as the 3x Super Bowl winning Guard & Center for the 1980's 49ers.
OF (WI)(WAR 68.75) A star outfielder for the A's and White Sox, he made the Hall-of-Fame in 1953. He's 20th in all time RBI, and the A's all time leader in RBI, hits, and Total Bases. He was a 2x Batting Champion (1930 & '31), and won 2 World Championships with the A's (1929, '30).
OF (IA)(WAR 67.91) Hall-of-Fame outfielder for the Louisville Colonels & Pittsburgh Pirates from 1894-1915. He had 2,678 hits and 1,622 runs scored. He was on the 1909 Pirates Champions. He has the same last name as the actress who played Daenerys Targaryen in Game of Thrones.
OF (WI)(WAR 36.73) A 5x All Star for the late 1940's Cubs, he had 1,796 hits and had a .285 lifetime average. He would play from 1953-59 for the Milwaukee Braves, helping them win the '57 World Series. (Sorry, no hints possible.)
DH (WI)(WAR 7.84) In 2002, he won the Rookie of the Year for TOR when he had a career high in HR and RBI. He made the World Series every year in 2007 (with BOS), 2008 (with TB), and 2009 (with NYY).
SP (WI)(WAR 116.06) Hall-of-Fame pitcher who won 30+ games seven times between 1890-1901. Played mostly for the Boston Beaneaters, he's 7th all time in Wins. Has the same last name as the female host of ESPN's 'the Jump.'
SP (IA)(WAR 63.86) Played only for the White Sox from 1914-1933. He is 2nd in Wins and Losses for the CHW franchise. He won the 1917 World Series, but did not pitch in the Black Sox 1919 series.
SP (IA)(WAR 63.41) The best pitcher of the CLE franchise, and a Hall-of-Famer in 1962. He missed 3 seasons due to WWII, which kept him away from winning 300 games. He's the Tribe's all time leader in Wins, Complete Games, Innings, and Strikeouts. Was on the 1948 World Series Champions.
SP (IA)(WAR 59.95) He was born 'Charles Arthur,' but was elected to the Hall-of-Fame as his nickname. He won the 1924 MVP for the Brooklyn Dodgers. He eventually won 190 games for Brooklyn, then went to St. Louis. In 1934, he finally won his World Championship with STL.
SP (WI)(WAR 52.66) A Hall-of-Fame pitcher who won 158 games for the Brooklyn Dodgers. Then, he helped STL win the World Series in 1931. He has the same name as the stage name of the Canadian singer/songwriter of REALiTi and Oblivion.
RP (IA)(WAR 23.88) In 1968 he won the Rookie of the Year for NYY when he won 17 games. In '69 he lost 16 games, so NYY eventually moved on from him. He started for CHW after, but had a losing record. It was in 1977 with the Expos that he became a reliever and found success. From 1977-81 he had a higher K ro BB ratio than as a starter. He has a very similar name to a lariat-throwing wrestler from the 1970s and 80s.
RP (WI)(WAR 20.95) He came up as a closer with SEA from 1978-81. He then moved to NYY where he was a .500 pitcher. But it was his 3rd stop where he found success. In PHI from 1984-88 he won 59 games, and made an All Star team (1986). In 1987, he was 2nd in the NL in wins.
RP (IA)(WAR 11.86) From 2011-17, he was a great reliever for PIT. He made the All Star team in 2014 when he went 10-2, and led the league in pitching appearances. From 2018-19 he's been on the SFG, where he's gone 6-8 with a 3.30 ERA in 132 games.
RP (WI)(WAR 10.82) A 2x All Star as a middle-reliever, he came up with MIN in the mid-2000's. He made the All Star team with STL (2014) and PHI (2017). His lifetime ERA is 2.82, but he had an ERA lower than 2.00 in 3 seasons. He's currently on the IL for the Phillies.
CP (WI)(WAR 16.87) He came up with NYY, but was traded during the '96 season to MIL. There, he was the Brewers closer, making the All Star team in 2000. He was CLE's closer from 2000-2006, making the All Star team once again. He retired with 267 saves, and a 1.87 K to BB ratio.
1B (WI)(WAR 46.49) A great defensive 1B who played 7 years for STL from 1907-13. He then added 3 seasons each with the Braves & Dodgers. He is 3rd all time in total Put-Outs, and has the 8th highest Range-Factor at 1B. (Sorry, no hints possible.)
3B (WI)(WAR 33.49) He was a 7x All Star for CLE who helped them win the 1948 World Series. '48 was his best year when he had 31 homers and 119 RBI.
1B (IA)(WAR 30.48) Though he had a short career (11 seasons for CLE & CHW), he has the most total bases in a season for CLE (405 in '36). He had 6 straight 100+ RBI seasons for the Tribe from 1934-'39. He led all of baseball in RBI in '36, and had 142 RBI in '34.
OF (WI)(WAR 30.34) A 1x batting champion (1902) who played for PIT, from 1899-1906. He led the NL 4x in hits, and 1x in runs. His last name is the name of the 33rd largest city in Texas, which is located in Jefferson County.
OF/SS (WI)(WAR 25.96) Won the AL Rookie of the Year in 1953 with DET, and played there (making the All Star team every year) until 1959. After one year with CLE, he then moved on to SFG, playing from 1961-65. He had over 190 hits 5x of his 15 seasons, ending with a .303 average. After playing, he managed the Milwaukee Brewers.
3B/OF (IA)(WAR 24.94) He mostly played 3B and 1B for CLE from 2003-2008. With LAD from 2008-2011 he also played in LF. He was pretty consistent with 17 HR's from 2003-10. Same last name as the Bengals QB from 1994-1999 out of East Carolina.
