Chocolate Logic Puzzle Walkthrough
Per Zoe’s clue, Frank is milk and Marisa is dark.
Each corner square is surrounded by one of each type, and Marisa is not adjacent to anyone who got white chocolate. This means that Ben must be the person next to the upper left corner who had white chocolate. Since Ben had white and Frank had milk, Gloria must have gotten dark.
Since every column has one of each type of chocolate (Abby’s clue), and no one next to Marisa had white chocolate, either Chloe or Wanda must have gotten white chocolate in the third column. However, Ben’s clue tells us that no one shares an initial with their type of chocolate, so it must be Chloe.
Because every row must have one of each type of chocolate (Abby’s clue), we know that Derek and Eloise are dark and milk chocolate, in some order. Since Ben’s clue tells us that no one shares an initial with their type of chocolate, Derek must be milk and Eloise dark.
Jake is the person next to the upper right corner who got white chocolate (since it can’t be Imogen, as she is next to Marisa). Since Derek is already milk, Imogen must be dark.
Yves must be white as each column must have one of each type, and the other two people in his column still unidentified are next to Marisa (who is not next to anyone who got white chocolate). Since each corner is surrounded by one of each type, this means that Tony and Sabrina are milk and dark chocolate in some order. Therefore, the only person in the fourth row who could possibly have gotten white chocolate is Paul.
There can only be two people in the third row who got white chocolate (since no one next to Marisa did), so the only way more people in Kara’s row could have more white then dark (Paul’s clue) is if the two people in the first and last columns had white chocolate, and only one person in the row got dark. Thus, Kara and Opal had white chocolate and Luke and Noah had milk.
Since each column must have one of each type, Ursula must have gotten dark chocolate and Tony must have gotten milk. Since Tony is milk, Sabrina must be dark chocolate.
Noah’s clue says more than half the people next to him got dark chocolate. The only way this can be possible is if Henry and Rick both had dark chocolate. This means that Wanda must have gotten milk chocolate as each column has one of each type.
Quinn and Vaughn are dark and milk in some order (Frank’s clue), but Eloise’s clue says that Quinn and Wanda got something different. This means that Quinn must be dark, and Vaughn must be milk.
