Welcome to SporcleCon’s Battle of the Brains!
Here is some important information to help guide you through this evening.
Battle of the Brains will be played in six acts, with each act consisting of two rounds each. Each round has five questions.
For the first three acts, you will assign each question in a round one point or three points. The point value you choose is assigned to all five questions in the round. The point value you don’t choose for the first round, will be used for your second round. Your team will decide the value of each round when submitting answers to each round.
For the final three acts one round’s questions will be worth two points each and the other round’s questions worth four points each. Your team will decide the value of each round after hearing descriptions of each round, but prior to hearing any questions.
Each team must choose an official scorer/answerer who will be in charge of submitting your team’s answers. Make sure their device is charged. Your team’s answerer must sit in the designated scorer position, which will be shown to you by your spotter.
Your scorer should sign up to play tonight at https://playquiz.live. The game code will be provided to you by your spotter.
You may choose to use any team name you wish, and you do not need to include a Globe League team number to play. Please enter your team name with your table number first. For example: 37 – Here for the Beer. This will allow us to find you quickly should we need to.
During the game, your team’s scorer may not use their phone for any purpose other than being on the PlayQuiz.Live answer website or your team will forfeit all points for the round.
During the game, nobody else on your team should be on their phone for any reason or your team will forfeit points for the round. A second offense is an automatic disqualification from any standings/prizes.
There will be a 30-minute intermission after Act 3. Lawrence will be performing during that intermission.
We know it’s been a long weekend already, so our goal is keep things moving along for you all. Being ready to go at 8:30 and after intermission will help us with that.
If you have a dispute about an answer in the first three acts, let your spotter know before the beginning of the fourth act.
If you have a dispute about an answer in the last three acts, let your spotter know before the beginning of the final rounds.
Any questions about anything else tonight, including the content of the game, should be directed to your spotter.
Good luck! Have fun! Thank you for being here!
