I know we have all tried to do that iconic Spongebob laugh, and now we all know we have Tom Kenny to thank for it. Not only is Tom Kenny the voice of our favorite sponge, but he is also the voice of Gary, the French narrator, Patchy the Pirate, and so many others!
2. Ice King in Adventure Time
Just like Spongebob and Gary, Tom Kenny is also the voice of the key character Ice King and his companion Gunter. And just like the Ice King having conversations with himself, you can only imagine Tom Kenny in the recording booth having conversations with himself as Ice King and Gunter.
Besides those two, Tom Kenny has MANY roles within the entirety of Adventure Time. It’s hard to watch any of the 283 episodes without hearing Tom Kenny’s voice or scream at least once. Watching Adventure Time is probably the easiest way to get familiar with Tom Kenny’s talented array of voices.
3. Eduardo in Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends
Tom Kenny also voices the kind giant in Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, Eduardo. This voice can be hard to distinguish with its deepness and raspy qualities, but now it’s hard to unhear the wonderful Tom Kenny each time Eduardo shares that he “likes potatoes”.
4. Heffer Wolfe in Rocko’s Modern Life
For all the 90’s kids out there, yes, Tom Kenny also voiced Rocko’s best friend, Heffer, in Rocko’s Modern Life. Heffer is Tom Kenny’s first major voice acting role in animation.
5. Mayor and Narrator in The Powerpuff Girls
And so once again the day is saved thanks to…Tom Kenny! We all remember the hypnotic heart pattern at the end of each episode of The Powerpuff Girls, and Tom Kenny can be thanked as the narrator to end each one. And of course, Tom Kenny has another role in this show as the Mayor!
