Pete’s Place, Taylor, Michigan
Tucked away in almost the center of Taylor, Michigan, is Pete’s Place, known for flavorful foods that are prepared fresh daily that all perfectly complement one of Pete’s “40 Craft on Draft.”
Yes, you read right! There are 40 craft beers on draft at Pete’s. The usual suspects appear with handles like Stella, Bud Light and New Belgium Fat Tire, but for a change of pace, you can sip on Cheboygan Blood Orange Honey – a 5.7% wheat ale with honey and blood orange zest, or the Kuhnhenn Blueberry DRIPA – a double rice imperial pale ale with blueberry, sliding in at 8.8%. The 8.5% Rogue Dead ‘n’ Dead is a whiskey barrel-aged Maibock from Newport, Oregon.
You can choose any of Pete’s made-from-scratch soups and chilis to come in a freshly baked bread bowl (or not). The soups rotate every day and include Cream of Broccoli, Cream of Mushroom, Tomato Basil, Vegetable Beef, New England Clam Chowder, Country Vegetable, or a surprise option on Sundays.
Pete’s Place specializes in portables – grinders, sandwiches, burgers, and wraps – but also offers a healthy selection of sit-down meals and breakfast options.
Monday through Friday from 4-6 PM and nightly from 9 PM-close, you may partake in half-off appetizers and $5 martinis, $4 craft pints, and $3 house wines and wells with additional daily drink specials!
Pete’s also aims to help you get over your midday hump with two games of Sporcle Live Trivia every Wednesday starting at 8:30 PM. You can play for the fun of it, but there are prizes for the first and second place teams from each game, and if you’re into long-term thinking, join Sporcle’s Pub Champions Trivia League where you can play for bigger cash prizes in the city-wide championship!
