Thornapple Brewing Co., Grand Rapids, Michigan
“We simply want to enjoy our passion with those who will enjoy it with us.”
That’s the motto of the first brewpub in Cascade Township, the home of serene vistas, plentiful trees, two rivers, and now home to Thornapple Brewing Co. Owners Eric Fouch and Jeff Coffey have a combined 50 years of brewing under their belts, international awards, and a long list of friends who pressured the duo into opening their own brewery.
In 2017, thankful throngs of beer drinkers have joined the friend-fans of the now professional brewers. Because their tastes sit on opposite ends of the beer spectrum – Fouch prefers “fruits and groceries in his beers,” specifically peanut butter and coffee, while Coffey doesn’t, because it ensures there is a variety of blonde to malt brews – they wanted to have something on tap unlike anything you’ve ever tasted before!
There’s the light ale 6 Ft. Blonde for the entry-level craft beer enthusiast; the Van Morrison-inspired Brown Eyed Girl with a nice malty note, nutty undertones, and a dark malt finish; the highly-hoppy Double Eye that’s wonderfully balanced between hop and malt; and everything in-between.
There are also ciders, meads, and wine.
Meals that perfectly pair with beer include artisan pizzas, several different hummus plates, and non-hummus dishes like beer cheese and pretzel, French fries, and curry poutine.
The dessert selection is absolutely fabulous: Brownie and ice cream, TBC Apple Cake with salted caramel, Turtle cheesecake, and Chocolate Kahlua Cake!
TBC is also your one-stop event shop with activities almost every day of the week:
