The Session Room

The Session Room, Ann Arbor, Michigan

When you’ve only been open six months and are nipping at the heels of first place in Current Magazine’s Best of Washtenaw Awards for Best Sports Bar, something’s very right! That’s just what happened for The Session Room in Ann Arbor.

Ann Arbor Alum and schoolmates from elementary school, Dave Fichera and Steve Kleinschmidt developed The Session Room after years of talking about having their own spot for good food, music, and sports. Built in a renovated, onetime machine shop, The Session Room’s industrial feel is the initial draw once you walk inside. After that, the vibe takes over. Like beer? Good, because there are seventy taps for you to choose from. That’s right, SEVENTY TAPS…beer nirvana.

Lagers, ales, wheats, hoppy hops, malts, Belgian-style, sours, ciders, mead, and non-beer options await your choice while choirs of angels sing. Every cocktail at The Session Room has been created by the bar staff.

If you’re hungry for some quality food to pair with your choice of beer, Fichera and Kleinschmidt put an emphasis on fresh and healthy choices, choosing not to “open a lot of cans” in creating menu items. There are a mouthwatering amount of starters, burgers, and salads to choose from, pizza, and a rotating cheese plate.

A 14 oz. Ribeye, Chargrilled Salmon, Grilled Chicken Piccata, Cajun Linguine, and Pasta Pesto are the entrée choices for when you’re ready for a meal that’s serious and satisfying, all reasonably priced and beautifully presented.

There are good times on tap as well, with a beer garden, monthly beer dinners, live music, 11 TVs for sports viewing, Euchre nights, and Sporcle Live Trivia every Tuesday at 7 PM, you may want to make The Session Room your new home.
