On the Rocks, Wyandotte, Michigan
“A bar you’ll love so much, you’ll want to have your wedding reception there!” Yes, that happened. It’s that good here at On the Rocks, and that’s just what the owner, Mike Mazloum, wanted when he opened his restaurant.
Mazloum said his vision for On the Rocks was to eliminate “bar food,” and create a place where the food-focus was artistic presentation – a “gourmet bar” – with an inside/outside dining experience so that you can relax, whatever the weather. And it’s true! The bar has an air of casual sophistication with hand-laid stone and a handmade wooden fireplace that is the centerpiece of the restaurant.
Looks aside, the menu is definitely what makes On the Rocks unique, and is a fusion of old-school and new-school meets elegant. The thin crust pizzas are crafted with hand-rolled dough, topped with 6 blended cheeses, and cooked on request in the wooden pizza oven. The burger, which Mazloum proudly proclaims “is like biting into a steak,” is the perfect combination of meat that will have your mouth watering as soon as it’s in eyesight. The chicken lettuce wraps feature peanuts ground with honey, and are the best you’ll ever taste!
There’s $1-off burger Tuesdays, after-work happy hour Monday-Thursday from 4-7PM, an extended happy hour with half-off select appetizers Monday-Thursday from 9-midnight, and it’s all even better on Thursdays because there’s Sporcle Live Trivia starting at 7:30 PM!
See you there!!!
