When it comes to Sporcle, curators truly do know best. In this blog series, some of the great curators of Sporcle share their expert opinions on curating, top-notch quizzes, up-and-coming Sporclers, and a wee bit of trivia.
This week we feature megamrbrutal, curator for the WWE, United Kingdom, Final Fantasy, and Box Office subcategories.
How did you first get involved with Sporcle?
I stumbled upon Sporcle by accident to be honest. I was on the Bleacher Report website and I think one of the articles had a link to the Sporcle website and I clicked through and a couple hours later I was hooked to the website.
Why did you decide to be a curator for your subcategories?
WWE: I have been a wrestling fan since I was eight and when I saw that the curator position was vacant I jumped at the chance to apply and luckily, I was approved.
UK: I love everything about the UK, especially the football. It was an easy choice to apply for the curatorship.
Final Fantasy: I am a big Kingdom Hearts fan and I wanted to attract more people to the subcategory as I feel it is an often-overlooked one.
Box Office: I am a massive movie fan and I saw that the curator spot was vacant for a couple months. I decided to apply and was fortunate to be approved.
What’s your favorite trivia fact having to do with your subcategories?
WWE: Vince McMahon, Vince Russo, and David Arquette have won more World Championships than Roddy Piper, Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts, and Ted DiBiase.
UK: The British Navy used Britney Spears’s songs to scare off Somali pirates. Apparently listening to Oops! I Did It Again was torturous enough for the pirates to withdraw.
Final Fantasy: The first Final Fantasy game was created by only seven people!
Box Office: Every time Adam Cheng stars in a Hong Kong drama series or movie, the Hong Kong stock market suffers a huge loss. The coincidence strangely enough has a name, the Ting Hai Effect, and investors anticipate a drop in the market.
What are some of your favorite published quizzes from your subcategories?
WWE: First World Title: WWE, WCW, TNA or ECW by australiantiger, Gimme Five: Wrestlers by nscox and Wrestler or Supervillain? by smreidy113.

What are your favorite quizzes from an entirely different category?
I really like Pastor_Maldonado‘s Anything but Geography series and his Formula 1 quizzes as well, tvisani always produces quality F1 quizzes, NO_r_Way‘s definitions quizzes always test me and I like The Evolution of Tom Hanks quiz by gingerlover.
Which Sporcle Group do you frequent most often?
I really love visiting the Badge Talk, Trophy Case and of course the Sporcle Curators group.
How can Sporclers in your subcategories best contact you?
Anyone wishing to contact me can do so by messaging me on Sporcle, I am active pretty much everyday and will reply as soon as I can.
Are there any Sporclers whose quizzes you think merit more attention than they get?
The following Sporclers deserve more merit for their quizzes: alvir28, BingBong12, tvisani, Burnley_Bloke, karenmcginty33, and zdybelt.
Haiku or favorite Dad Joke (or both):
A ham sandwich walks into a bar and orders a beer. The bartender says, “Sorry we don’t serve food here.”
