When it comes to Sporcle, curators truly do know best. In this blog series, some of the great curators of Sporcle share their expert opinions on curating, top-notch quizzes, up-and-coming Sporclers, and a wee bit of trivia.
How did you first get involved with Sporcle?
My daughter showed me a Russell Crowe quiz, but I only played a few games. Later, somebody I knew from a trivia site on AOL also told me about it.
Why did you decide to be a curator for your subcategories?
Missing Word: I chose it because I like that games can be about any subject. There are great possibilities for the subcategory.
Quick Pick: Admin asked me if I would also curate QP when it first became a Daily Dose.
Easter: I wanted a subcategory that is very specific. Before taking Easter, I’d only been a curator for Daily Dose games.
What’s your favorite trivia fact having to do with your subcategories?
I really can’t think of just one, but I like that players can learn so many different things by playing Missing Word and Quick Pick games.
What are some of your favorite published quizzes from your subcategories?
Missing Word: I like the Missing Word in Every Category series from nopurplesky.
Quick Pick: From tim_Parr: Quick Pick: Board Game Pieces and from ZYX: Quick Pick: Brown or Grey.

What are your favorite quizzes from an entirely different category?
Animal quizzes with pics, like this one from xyz_: Antarctica Animals (Slideshow). PrincessMartell has some really cute crocheted games like Lord of the Rings Crochet Dolls. I also like games by Hejman because the urls are so funny.
How can Sporclers in your subcategories best contact you?
Send me a message with links to any Missing Word and Quick Pick games they believe are worthy of CPs.
Are there any Sporclers whose quizzes you think merit more attention than they get?
Scuadrado. His animal picture click quizzes are fantastic.
Haiku or favorite Dad Joke (or both):
What did the buffalo say to his son when he dropped him off at school? Bison.
Pearl does a variety of media-related tasks at Sporcle, including blog writing, video production, and social media maintenance. She does research on penguins, enjoys snail mucus in her skincare, and once turned herself Sporcle Orange from eating too many carrots.
