  1. THIS really is an american-centric game, for good.

Anyway, good luck to everyone in the U.S.!!

  2. Hmm… I played Sporcle alot and have quizes with over 300,000 plays… I think i have contributed enough to be able to take part in this contest… Shame I can’t because I am not american

  3. I don’t live in the US, either, but I have some appreciation of how difficult it would be to open this up to the whole world, while at the same time conforming to the giveaway/sweepstakes rules for every region in EVERY country. Also, I could care less about owning an iPad, anyway.

  4. Question for Sporcle: What is the reason only the US is included in the contest? Can you at least explain?

  5. Hey all, thanks for the passionate response to the Sporcle sweepstakes. We certainly didn’t mean to offend our friends abroad. At the end of the day, we had to make a choice. Given legal and logistical hurdles, do we run a contest with only US residents or run no contest at all? It wasn’t an easy choice, but in the end, we decided that something was better than nothing. That being said, we are continuing to investigate our options so that we can be as inclusive as possible. We appreciate your understanding.

  6. Congrats Sporcle! Here’s to the next 50,000,000,000,000! So glad to be part of the fun! Maybe by the time we hit this number the USA will be a part of Canada and I’ll have a chance to win an iPod 42!

  7. Oh well, hope the next contest could go due north of the border. Good luck to you all. I guess lots of Americans go on Sporcle, eh?

  8. Does playing the game “to completion” mean you have to either get them all right or wait for time to expire. Or can you “give up” and it will still be counted as “to completion?”
