  1. Hey.
I'm so thrilled that the sporcle iphone app is finally out. Before buying it I do have one question: Will this include all the sporcle quizzes that are on the site? Will it include the user created ones as well? If it doesn't, you guys should for sure add it to the next version. As the iphone version should be just like the web version.

    Thanks again

  2. This is a great start—I may as well not even go to class now because I'll be playing this the whole time anyway! And you thought you were educating us… sheesh 😉

The obvious aspect that could be improved is the number of quizzes. In a perfect world (as I'm sure you know!) it would be able to play any quiz on the site, or at least any published quiz, but I'm guessing that that's not feasible right now or else you would've put it in! Still, the number of quizzes in the game right now is pretty underwhelming. Say, for example, I'm a hockey fan above all else. The only quiz I can play is "name all 30 NHL teams" and a hockey fan could do that in a few minutes tops.

Two more minor suggestions, from playing with the app quite a bit today:

    1) it seems like I am getting very close to the time limit on quizzes that I know I can do extremely easily (without worrying about time) when I play on the computer because typing on the iPhone is much slower. I consider myself a fast iPhone typer, so if I'm having close calls, I'm sure there are people who have the time run out much sooner than would be desirable! Maybe times could be extended for the app?

    2) this could also help out with suggestion 1—I would really appreciate being able to play in "landscape" mode on the iPhone. I find that I am able to type much faster this way and most people I speak to about it tend to agree. It's also more comfortable for me to hold the phone this way, but I'm sure that's a matter of personal preference. The option to choose between holding the phone vertically and horizontally would probably be a good addition if it can be easily done.

Thanks so much for this app—I'm recommending it to all my friends!

  3. It would be nice to have a way to mark certain quizzes as favorites. I know there is a history list, but it would be nice to be able to quickly see just those quizzes I'm interested in. And I'll join the others in hoping for more and more quizzes to be added.

  4. This isn't exactly about your post.

But sporcle, you can put your blogspot page at a subdomain of sporcle.com.

Just create a CNAME record for blog.sporcle.com pointing to ghs.google.com. Then go into your blog settings and turn on "domain"

  5. well Thanks for the post about iphone application. It's most importance is mobile application, It's never used can't be here. iPhone Application Development

  6. Did everything, tried to change permission with Mobile Terminal, and it said it wasn't allowed (even with entering the correct information as you have a typo in the chmod command). Oh well.
