| @AdamBishop: Slash omission corrected. The Dominion of New England was formed in 1686 out of the colonies of Massachusetts Bay, New Hampshire, and Plymouth. Other colonies were added over the next three years - Rhode Island, Connecticut, East Jersey, West Jersey and New York. In 1689 the Dominion was then dissolved into six of the 13 colonies that eventually formed the US. New Canada was French controlled North America which was ceded to Britain at the Treaty of Paris. In 1764, the territories of New France were absorbed into the existing British colonies (primarily Lower and Upper Canada) and threafter ceased to exist as an entity. |
