	To be honest, Italy's military was at best incompetent under Mussolini and Liberal Italy before that. They lost to Abyssinia and barely beat Libya in their empire-aspirations.

	@samcash13593: San Marino and Switzerland were well established centuries before Italy became a nation state. Austria was a much more powerful country than Italy until 1918 and actually controlled much of what is now Italy. Malta became British in 1814 long before the formation of Italy and remained so until independence in 1964.

	@Anja: Bosnia & Herzegovina was never controlled by Italy. It was part of the Austria-Hungary until the First Worls War, then part of the Kingdom of the Serbs, Croats & Slovenes which become Yugoslavia. It was invaded by Germany in 1941 and then incorporated in the Nazi puppet Independent State of Croatia. It was then liberated by Partisan Yugoslavs and reincorporated into Yugoslavia.

	@samcash13593 San Marino was always considered by the Italians (and the many states that then formed Italy) as an independent nation since 301. Malta was a British colony between 1800 and 1964. Austria became a part of Germany before the Second World War and before the Great War was a world power. Switzerland has been a neutral nation throughout the 20th and 21st centuries. If you're going to build an empire, you'd hardly target Malta (part of the largest empire ever), Austria (I'd not have wanted to mess with the Germans before WW2), San Marino (no offence to any San Marinese, but I'd spend time occupying lands with greater resources) or Switzerland (neutral).

	Montenegro seems to show up on almost all of these quizzes. I wonder why. Anyway, the only one I missed was China. I'll admit, I tried the United States, Canada, and Kyrgyzstan!
