	My favourite thing about Sporcle? It helps me to justify all that reading I do about history I do. I tell ya, those Romans are a soap opera made for T.V. Wouldn't have to stray at all from historical accounts. Sex, violence, betrayal...it's got it all.

	that is a serious ridiculous amount! of course back then countries were not countries, but much smaller kingdoms and so on, but it is still a huge chunk of earth. Especially considering that the world back then consisted in europe asia and about half of africa (since the other half was too remote to even be considered by europeans)

	All those findings are disputed in origin, and may not be Roman at all. Even if they were, it may as well mean a galley blown off course in a storm or similiar. It's very unlikely that there were any permanent Roman settlements in the New World.
