Good idea for a quiz. It was not until after the quiz that I realised why Belgium didn't work, so maybe add a sentence to the description that states that ALL official languages need to be. And maybe add bonus answers for Greenland and the Faroe Islands? They may not be countries, but their situation is pretty unique I'd say. Aruba and Curacao could also be bonuses for the same reason.

For the African country, think of places that had never been colonized. Also, what about Laos?

Onno: Thanks, I added the info regarding Belgium. As for Greenland and Faroe, I'd rather not include non-sovereign countries for now. There are eight bonus answers; did you get them all? =D Dralcoffin: Thanks for the heads up, Laos is now a regular answer. :)

Indonesian is only spoken by about 23 million native speakers. It's taught in schools, but is not the native language of the majority of the population.

I found two bonuses. Thanks for making me feel dumb with the Portugal one :). I actually think this would be a better quiz if the order was randomized with a little more time. Then those of us who can do the countries alphabetically would actually have to think of each country instead of going through the list in our heads.

Very interesting quiz! How about Tanzania btw? As far as I know it has Swahili as national language only

Good quiz, although the source lists lots of other estimates for native speakers of Persian which are all above 50 million, and the Persian language page on the same site claims 110 million native speakers.

No Papua New Guinea? Papuan isn't spoken in very many other places, and PNG itself has only a very small population.

Indonesia has a population of over 350 million. Are you sure less than 50 million speak the official language?

Ukrainian is the only official state language of Ukraine. It has only 37.5 million native speakers. Ukraine should therefore be included.

Moldova should be also here. Romanian (Moldovan) is the only official language and native speakers are 24 million.

professor88: English is the other official language of Tanzania, which disqualifies it for this quiz.

xtocb: The official language of Vatican City is Italian. Only the Holy See (a separate entity) used Latin in its documents.
