| Also, I think Gary Carter was the most recent Giant to be inducted into the HOF - might want to specify the team they were inducted "as" |

| Could you accept "Comerica" and "AT&T" without the word park? |
 | jaysee: | Oct 23rd, 2012 at 13:07 GMT | | 1 point |
| Entering 't' for Tigers caused AT&T Park to appear. |
 | Murf1013: | Oct 23rd, 2012 at 13:42 GMT | | 1 point |
| Most of the time "att" has been accepted for AT&T. |

| Nice quiz, but one glaring error: Al Kaline would be the most recent Tiger in the Hall of Fame. Thanks. |
 | zachup: | Oct 23rd, 2012 at 14:28 GMT | | 6 points |
| Al Kaline was inducted in 1980, Hal Newhouser was inducted in 1992. |
 | LiverpoolFCUCLA: | Oct 23rd, 2012 at 16:37 GMT | | 4 points |
| Sorry. The only glaring error was mine. I did not consider induction dates. Still wondering why it took so long for Newhouser to get voted into HOF. |
 | bigpete7: | Oct 23rd, 2012 at 19:16 GMT | | 2 points |
| I was under the impression the Melky Cabrera hit .346 and Posey hit .336. If you are going to DQ Cabrera, it should be noted. |

| I say you should include:
1) Last 20 game winner
2) Previous stadium
3) Team colors
4) Most games started each position |

| LiverpoolFCUCLA: Newhouser's best seasons came when many players were at war. That tainted his legacy to the point where the BBWAA never gave him more than half of the votes and only once gave him more than 30%. His great war-years were surrounded by mostly just decent, but not HOF-worthy seasons. And he was voted in by the Veterans Committee and his era only comes up every 3 years so he didn't miss out in as many years as you may think. |

| Hmm, I suppose Sparky Anderson entered the HOF as a Red, not a Tiger? Or do you mean Last HOF Player Inductee? |
 | AKappy: | Oct 24th, 2012 at 18:48 GMT | | 7 points |
| Cabrera DQ'd himself. |

| Sox Fan: I think that you (and the BBWAA voters) are not being very fair to Prince Hal. In 1941, he was 20 years old, hard to expect him to be that good prior to WWII. And his 1946 season is just as good as his 1944 and 1945 MVP seasons. And in 1948, he probably was the best pitcher in the AL. |
 | DesertSpartan: | Oct 24th, 2012 at 18:58 GMT | | 2 points |
| The war thing was long a complaint about Newhouser. He won two MVPs, but the years were 1944(nearly all big names at War) and 1945 (many big names still at war). He did howeever finish second for MVP in 1946 and was the AL wins leader 4 times, twice during the War Years and twice after. He also had a great season with the Indians in 1954. Newhouser suffers from not just the War years, but only 207 career wins and only won World Championship. |

| As of now (10/24/12), both Scutaro and Young are chosen correctly over 50% of the time... People who take this quiz a year from now will have completely forgotten about these 2 average (at best) MLB players. |
 | kcostell: | Oct 26th, 2012 at 01:17 GMT | | 12 points |
| That's part of what's great about the playoffs though. Whether or not you think they were "average (at best)", they stepped up in the most some of the most important games of their life. For one week, they were magical. |

| Surprised to see Newhouser as the last Tiger in the hall. Mostly because he played in the 40's. Also, because Jack Morris should be in there. |

| As a Giants fan living near Detroit, I have to say this was a great baseball season! Even got to go to the stadium and watch from the gaps in the fence (cannot afford tickets, unfortunately). |

| In 2013 Buster Posey won MVP for the Giants and Miguel Cabrera won it for the Tigers... what a coinsidence. |

| Giants last regular season MVP was Buster Posey |
