I'm rather astonished that any album by ZZ Top could be considered more necessary to listen to than "Some Girls," whose absence, I assume, keeps the Stones off this list.

A tough but remarkable list. Bravo.

@rockgolf-I just read your description on the music page and realized I completely forgot about Bruce Springsteen. His first album is in '75 and his last album is in '02. Sorry.

Accept elvis for Presley. Very very difficult list.

Any list that includes post-"Black Album" Metallica as essential listening is hugely flawed.

Would be nice to have a link to check out the source. Very subjective (and inherently snobbish), as all these lists are.

@H0limkill-I can't except just Elvis for Elvis Presley because Elvis Costello is also on this list.

Good quiz. Just for the record, I plan on dying long before I listen to some of these artists again.

ZZ Top? Not only do I completely reject their deserving to be listed as "must hear" they are completely out of character with the other artists mentioned here.
