cool quiz. i think a better clue for foreigner would be domestic.

Yea this is good! Only I wouldn't say that Heaven and Nirvana are interchangeable.

I don't think romance is the opposite of tragedy, most tragedies are based around a romance

Thanks! We liked National for Foreigner since it is a way to describe a person (domestic wouldn't work like that). Nirvana and Hell seem interchangeable to us - many sites list hell as an antonym to nirvana. Do you have suggestions to use instead of tragedy?

For Foreigner, you may consider "Native", and for My Chemical Romance, maybe "Your Organic Just-Friends" or to be cheeky, "Your Organic Marriage"! Nice Quiz

Good idea, and some clever onnes. But you are taking the "opposites" bit too long at times. Like, organic certainly isn't an opposite to chemical. But many of the pairings I can live with, like drawn/painted, gold/silver etc, even though they aren't anything like opposites.

I've made this the Editor's Choice of the day:
http://www.sporcle.com/games/category/music -look on the right as you scroll down. But I'd like to see some extra clues added for these bands: Barenaked Ladies, Journey, Boyz II Men, The Supremes, Survivor, Ace Of Base

And how about Native-born, instead of National for Foreigner? "Foreigner" is a noun, but National an adjective. The clues should be fair.

National can also be a noun, but we will use your suggestion. Thanks for making us the choice of the day! We added your other ones and a couple more.

I loved the quiz! You should except Knife for the Fork clue, though, and there is a new band called The Very Best that I kept entering for the Worsts clue.

A couple suggestions: Antidote could be Venom. And I thought The Repulsions surely would be Elvis Costello's band, the Attractions.

maybe instead of tragedy use platonic of some sort. We all know that the opposite of tragedy is comedy. (the two divisions of Greek dramas)

What? No Alive and Dead? (I just wonder how many people would blow a circuit or two trying to figure that one out since the most obvious answer just couldn't possibly be right.)

Good, though I got stuck with Nirvana since "Hell" as I understand it in English, doesn't mean the same thing as Naraka in Buddhism (though it's translated as Hell, it's definitely not the same as the Christian "Hell"). Admittedly, I'm not as familiar with the concept of hell in Jainism, so maybe? tl;dr: I don't associate the concept of "Hell" as a synonym for "Naraka", so "Nirvana" is not a synonym for "Heaven" to me...

I can't believe I didn't guess that trio of musicians from Canada...its cool that one of my favorite bands was an answer. I know I'm getting old, but what's with some of these band names? Have all the good ones been taken?

Shouldn't the clue be 'reincarnation' or 'rebirth' not 'hell'. That's not really the opposite of that clue. That equivalent in "that religion" is 'naraka' and it's more like purgatory in christianity than it is like hell.

Agreed on the nirvana part.. take it from someone who's studied sanskrit for 5 years. Nirvana is more a state of being than a location like hell, and the closest synonym in English is salvation. Maybe purgatory? That's the closest thing I can think of, but that's not it, really, either.

Nice. I really struggled with My Chemical Romance though. 'Organic' is not an antonym of 'chemical'. The collection of textbooks on my bookshelf called 'Organic Chemistry' tends to reinforce that view. (Not that I can actually think of a suitable antonym!)

relax? at the library. also, for "girls from women" I tried to spell "II" as "2" and it wasn't accepted, but "to" was. Shouldn't "2" be okay?

Should be "Clothed Gentlemen" since that's a better antonym for the word you want.
