| Blue, blue, mauve. The three areas with the highest immigration are the Pacific Coast, the Atlantic seaboard (which Sen. Barry Goldwater, R-Ariz., wanted to saw off so it could float out to sea), and the Southwest (most of which was once part of Mexico). Or alternatively you could count Florida and Texas as Gulf Coast (and also the 2nd and 4th largest states in population), and close to both Mexico and the Caribbean. |
