@yippeeyappee That was well-done, and someday I'll forgive you for making me the worst tasting of the vegetables on here. :) Seriously though, I am called Sprout because I'm short like the Jolly Green Giant's friend, so it is super aptly fitting.

@sproutcm: When I made started making this quiz, I thought of the Jolly Green Giant which reminded me of your icon! Kohlrabi was the only veggie I could think of that fit the letter pattern!

even more difficult for an Englishman, for whom 'kale,' 'okra,' 'kuhlrabi' and (my favourite) 'rutabaga' are all nonsense-words! good quiz though :)

What the hell are kale, parsnip, squash, okra and kohlrabi? From what country is that?

@Joallard I don't know where your from but I worked at a regular grocery store in the US and kale, parsnips, squash, and okra were all sold there. Kohlrabi is the one one i dont know what it is

Kale, okra and kohl rabi are all available in England by those names. Rutabaga is what we call swede (or sometimes turnip, depending on where you are). Okra is sometimes called Lady's Fingers, but I see 'okra' more.

Had to get Kohlrabi letter-by-letter, but everything was in at least one other word, so I have no complaints. Great quiz.

: If you want to get really technical here, beans are a fruit; squash is also a fruit, along with cucumbers, tomatoes, zucchini, walnuts... But c'mon there's more moms serving them as vegetables than there are botanists, who really should be the only ones who care about such things.

In sporcle quizzes, what's considered cheating? I opened my note pad and started deciphering before I started the timer. Is this wrong?

@ari18: it's the apple of Norway. (at least, that's what a Norwegian farmer told me once, while holding up a kohlrabi. Seriously, though, it's like a green turnip with loose cabbage leaves above it. Kind of. A root vegetable.)

Kohlrabi is a relative of cabbage. It's good (if you like cabbagy type things). They grow above ground like cabbage and brussel sprouts and, like brussel sprouts, they're best when young. People are kind of like that too, but you shouldn't eat them.
