To summarize YippeeYappee's & my comments in archive:
Before there are further objection, yes, there were other artists who had hit songs with the titles "Fame" (Bowie), "Call Me" (Aretha Franklin, Chris Montez), "Sara" (Starship), "Real Love" (at least 6, including Mary J Blige & The Beatles), "All Night Long" (Lionel Richie, although he added the subtitle "All Night Long (All Night)"), "Daydream Believer" (Monkees, actually the same song), and "Shining Star" (Earth Wind & Fire), but none of those songs are from 1980.

I also thought of additional artists for "More Love" (Miracles -the original), "One Fine Day" (Chiffons, ditto), "Desire" (U2), "Yes, I'm Ready" (Barbara Mason), "Gimme Some Lovin'" (I'm a heretic for preferring the BB version over the Spencer Davis Group) and "Magic" (Pilot)! |
