| @zoopy George VI was the king of the United Kingdom and it's colonies or dependencies. During the Second World War, India was not independent but a colony of the United Kingdom and gained it's independence after World War II. Therefore, any monarch reigning over the United Kingdom, also reigned over it's dependencies, so places like India, Pakistan, Iran, Malta, Australia, New Zealand, North Borneo (modern day Indonesia) and the Solomon Islands had to accept any change in monarchy in the U.K.. That is why George VI is considered the monarch of India at the time. |
