	I was going to comment about the lack of Liechtenstein and Slovakia but it seems they recognized eachother in the beginning of this year. 5 globes for the quiz because I learned something from it. :)

	@TiZo: You're right, but Taiwan isn't a member of the UN. Neither is Kosovo.

	I think Liechtenstein and Slovakia recognize each other now, but I don't think they have formal diplomatic relations yet.

	Great quiz, I love how I had enough time to sit back and think about the world rather than hammering in countries frantically. The array of countries that don't recognise China is really interesting

	Awesome quiz for making people think. I was surprised by Armenia and Pakistan-I was not aware of that refusal to recognize. Also, I knew all those countries recognized Taiwan, but I didn't know that they did not recognize a PRC; guess Gambia and B.Faso are going to miss out on some serious Chinese moola!

	@indianwolf1992: Countries can't recognise both Taiwan and China because their governments both claim to be the legitimate government of China. Taiwan's proper name is the Republic of China.

	@tommh does that mean the other 170 or so members don't recognise taiwan? I knew it wasn't in the UN but thought it was widely recognised (hence being in the countries of the world quiz).

	Most countries don't recognise it officially, to not piss off China, but a lot of them have unofficial diplomatic relations.

	good quiz, but i suggest changing the column widths to favor the right instead of the left so the list of unrecognizing countries isn't nine lines tall

	Thought Turkey would be the one not recognizing Armenia. Probably a couple of minutes too much time, as I could type an awful lot of countries in 8 minutes.

	@Brizza Taiwan likes to court small and easy to influence countries in its global struggle for recognition, especially island states because they can benefit a lot from Taiwanese aid. A good example is Kiribati which switched recognition from the PRC to Taiwan in 2003 and now receives substantial food aid: http://www.pacificbusinessonline.com/kiribati/story/12887/kiribati-receives-food-aid-taiwan

	Why would Cuba not recognize Israel? They're the only non-Muslim country in the group.

	It probably has to do with anti-American sentiment, but I know that Fidel has made many pro-Israeli statements recently, albeit from an unofficial standpoint.

	very nice/interesting quiz, but I think 8 minutes is waaaaaaay too much time. In that time I wrote this comment, got a drink and now I have another 5 minutes for the 6th answer.

	Very good, I'm not sure if every country recognizes kosovo, though. You might also want to reduce the time to 4 minutes.

	I had the same question as cocky. If St Kitts and Nevis doesn't recognize China, does China recognize it? I feel like all of the countries listed on either side of this quiz should be listed as answers.

	Great idea, but I would change the wording to "at least one other UN member does not recognize" instead of "that are not recognized by at least one other UN member" as I foolishly spent a minute thinking that it was odd that there were six UN members that were not recognized at all by the other UN nations. I'm also surprised that this was made an "editor pick" when the link and pluralization of countries were done improperly. They're all minor quibbles, but if something is published or an editor's pick it should be nearly flawless.

	The People's Republic of China does not have diplomatic relations with any country that recognize the Republic of China as the legitimate government of China, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't recognize them as countries.

	@Paulio_Ham, I think you're misunderstanding jslewitz. Cuba's anti-Israel stance probably stems from its anti-American stance. Since Cuba and the US historically have not gotten along, and the US was the first nation to recognize Israel back in 1948, it's not surprising Cuba doesn't recognize Israel.

	I would disagree that the 8 minutes is too long, just based on the distribution. I think the 8 minutes is fine.
