Hi There.. are you able to guide me where you were able to do this? I run quizzes myself and would love to be able to do it.. many thanks
Dec 2nd, 2009 at 05:32 GMT
very interesting idea
Dec 2nd, 2009 at 05:34 GMT
Brilliant. 5 stars. Reminiscent of Games Magazine in the 1980's. This simple act of (apparently) putting a picture ABOVE the whole quiz could mark a paradigm shift in sporcle quiz creation.

Fantastic idea and execution! The quiz was well constructed and I was happy to see you included both the answers of double-use fonts such as the seventh answer down on the left. 5 glowing bulbs of orange juice for you!

Pasting pictures in the source box... Good sir, you have opened the door to a new generation of Sporcling. Congratulations. 23 glowing bulbs of orange juice!

Great quiz.. one of the more innovative ones recently.
Dec 2nd, 2009 at 08:13 GMT
OK so now the word Sporcle looks really weird.

I played the quiz twice to see if there was another answer for the Spider-Man, and it's there. Nicely done!
Dec 2nd, 2009 at 11:21 GMT
Amazing, fantastic, incredible, hats off to you sir!!
Dec 2nd, 2009 at 12:04 GMT
@Osprey... I missed CNN because I thought it looked like the font for Sega, which is actually really similar but blue, not red. Sega... CNN... close enough, right? Right?
Dec 2nd, 2009 at 12:17 GMT
Mind blowing! Shocked at some of the answers I thought I knew, but didn't. I did pretty bad, but this was excellent!
Dec 2nd, 2009 at 12:58 GMT
really creative, should get published
Dec 2nd, 2009 at 13:57 GMT
perfect choices for the logos - all very familiar yet challenging.

Anyone else getting a red X for the image?
Dec 2nd, 2009 at 14:43 GMT
Either you have way too much time on your hands, or you are just simply awesome. Very nice quiz.

Damn you LEGO!

What I find really interesting is the way some typefaces bring to mind other companies, just by gut reaction. I would have sworn CNN was Atari, probably through the video game association with Sega, and that IBM was ESPN, because of the horizontal whitespace. Cool.
Dec 2nd, 2009 at 15:35 GMT
Yep this is getting published.

great - sporcle is one of those words that the more you say it, the funnier it sounds - i look forward to more of these.
Dec 2nd, 2009 at 16:24 GMT
Oh good I'm not the only one who thought that CNN was Atari. (I Googled it. Not even close. But I kept trying it, and Missile Command, and Intellivision, and...)
Dec 2nd, 2009 at 16:47 GMT
this was sooo fun!!! :)

I thought CNN was Atari too or something too. Could not think of it.

Dec 2nd, 2009 at 22:42 GMT
Brilliant quiz, I'd also be very interested in knowing where and how you managed to do this, it's a fantastic idea for a quiz.
Dec 2nd, 2009 at 22:44 GMT

Thank-you for all the positive comments and ratings. I'm extremely glad you all enjoy the quiz. For those curious how to put an image for the source, all you need to do is put < img src="URL"> in the Source URL box, and Source Description box. Then replace the URL with the link to the image. Keep the quotation marks around the link and remove the first space! I cannot take credit for figuring this out as there have been other image quizzes done before this one. I'm also not sure if Sporcle will continue to allow this, but I really hope they do because it allows all of us to get a little more creative with our quizzes. If you're wondering how I created the image..well, I'm very familiar with Photoshop. I downloaded many font files and created a standard logo for the companies etc. that I wanted to use. Effects and such were then added to make them look almost exactly like the original logo. @off_the_chain - I would have preferred it that way, but only the Sporcle admins can create a quiz like that as far as I'm aware. Again, thanks for all the kind feedback and ratings.
