Great wrong answers!

The objective is not really clear - is it the 20 longest shows of the shows that are listed or the 20 longest shows that are playing now or the 20 longest shows in history?

Anyone who doesn't get Fiddler on the Roof has something wrong with them. :)

I would've guessed every other show on there before I would've gotten to Jersey Boys...

It's interesting that the three least guessed were once famous specifically for being the longest-running. Not so much anymore.

When in doubt, guess the ones you're not familiar with. (I didn't.)

severian: Oh! Calcutta ran for YEARS! It opened on Broadway initially in 1969 and ran for 1,314 performances. The 1976 revival ran for 5,959 performances closing in 1989!

4th grade at my school is doing a broadway beat play this year. It includes songs from Hairspray, George M. Cohen, The Music Man, The King and I, Rent, Wicked, and Grease. It rocks. I am in Whistle a Happy Tune from The King and I. Rent is very popular. It's called the Rock hit musical.

This is too New York specific (yes I am joking)

i did way too good for guessing. mostly just picked the ones i had actually heard of

It wasn't exactly clear if you were counting just the number of performances in the original production or adding in those from revivals as well.

I've been to Broadway a few times and thought I knew a decent amount about it, so I automatically dismissed anything I hadn't heard of. Guess I don't know as much as I thought.

Pet peeve: Why isn't this alphabetized?

Big surprise, Phantom of the Opera is the #1 longest Broadway show. I got out trying to pick the other ALW shows though...

Most of them recent shows - because new original risky productions are as rare on the stage as anywhere else.
