| while buying lunch from my standard fried rice place in taiwan, i noticed the lady who owned the place was glum one day. i asked her what was up, and she said her brother was a chicken farmer, and someone stole 30,000 chickens from him the previous night. i thought i misunderstood, and she must have said 300 or 3,000... but after confirming it several times, indeed, it was 30,000. i made sure not to laugh in front of her, but while walking home, i was thinking to myself, how the hell do you steal 30,000 chickens and go unnoticed? dress up in a giant chicken suit and pied piper them out of town? and cant the cops just follow the trail of feathers to catch the culprit? ... thankfully, she was happier the next day, as the cops caught the thief... sadly he had butchered 15,000 already, but her brother was paid back in full. |
