	I was only surprised by Spain and Portugal being on the list. I always pegged them as more of wine-drinking than beer-drinking countries.

	@Jomaw: The Scandinavian countries have extremely high tax on alcohol to discourage people from drinking lots in the long, depressing winters and committing suicide. I found it more surprising that some of them were there, rather than that any were missing. I would have got 20/20 except that I thought of #9 and obviously forgot to type it, and the well-known abbreviation for #13 wasn't accepted, about which I've sent feedback.

	The US total should be considered in light of the fact that around one-third of all Americans of legal drinking are teetotalers. It's by far the highest abstention rate of any country in the developed world. By contrast, I believe the figure for Britain is around 10%.

	I must now reiterate my desire for a quiz with major imports of various different countries. The quiz could have the brand name and you need to fill in the country. Further, could we have a quiz of major styles of beer?

	Good quiz, once you realise its European dominated (16 countries from Europe, plus the other 4 all have very strong European links) it becomes a lot easier than a lot of the other 'Top whatever in the world' quizzes. 20/20 first time I am proud so say, with about two minutes to spare!

	every country is european or former european colony (ALL white people). of course there's something cultural about it. but i wonder if there's also a biological factor. if it were only cultural, one would think there'd be some asian or hispanic countries on here.

	A small percentage of Czech consumption must be made up of Brits on stag trips to Prague! The one time I've been to Finland, beer was at least twice the UK price and it's not that cheap here (other than in supermarkets when sold in cans).

	I'm amazed Jamaica isn't on the list... when I visited there, I quite literally never saw anyone (besides me, as I'm straight edge) drink anything but Red Stripe. I'm also amazed that everyone in Europe is a drunk.

	@Statto: I think the Czechs give British stag parties a good run for their money. :-) (Stag party=bachelor party; not sure how well-known the phrase is in the US.)
