I've always found it interesting that all but one of his wives were named Anne or Katherine

And that wife was the only one he felt that he truly loved... The wife he was buried with.

Less romantically, of course, she was the only one available to be buried with...Parr was still alive, as was Cleves; Boleyn and Howard were both buried in bits; and I think Aragon had gone back to Spain. Either that or she was still living too.

Henry VIII died in 1547, Catherine of Aragon died well before that in 1536.

He's only buried with her cos she gave him a son. Historically they think Boleyn was the one he actual cared for, but her big mouth got her into trouble. And shouldn't they fix Aragon to be spelled with a C?

Since he seems like he was a somewhat fickle soul I find it likely that if Seymour had only lived a little longer Henry would have found the time to hate her too.

i agree, i was always taught Catherine of aragon, Wikipedia lists them all as being spelt with a C but i thought it was Katherine Howard and Kathryn Parr. bizarre

I dont' object to the spellings for Catherine as both were allowed. However it took me a while to figure out why Anne of Kleves wasn't going through! Very harsh, especially since Kleves is the correct spelling! :)

Would have been better to make you enter the correct answer next to each one of the six. Just would add an extra challenge to those who know the names of the six, otherwise it's a bit easy.

@sporcrates. Doesn't look like you did just learn these then, if you only managed 1! Without Catherine of Aragon and "that" divorce, the current political make up of the Western World would be very different...

Catherine Howard was hanged, not beheaded...

@ saopaolo: is there any evidence for this? I'd say most of the evidence says she was beheaded...

catherine howard was definitely beheaded, just as her cousin anne boleyn was. in my opinion catherine howard was the only one who deserved her death because she was somewhat of a **** within the court.

Henry VIII let Katherine Howard dance with other men that were younger because he couldn`t dance and some of the men she had the affair with.
