| Henry was a very disturbed man as it seems. The reason why he killed and divorced his wives (actually he annulled the marriages) whether they existed or not (if boleyn and howard cheated on him, or if aragon had consumed her marriage to his brother) didnt really matter. He simply wanted then out of the picture, and havent been for one reason, he would create another.
All of it supposedly to produce a male heir, and the one he did produce didnt live to see his 15th birthday, the irony is that all he wanted out of an heir, ended up being true for his most rejected daughter, Elizabeth.
I agree also that we cant really know which one was, or even if there was a real love of his life (seems to me that he wasnt very able to love, or that love to him was very shallow and volatile), he was buried with seymour, but his other wives were either form dissolved marriages (therefore, not wives in his eyes) or beheaded (therefore unworthy). And there was also c.parr, who apparently he was very fond to, but was still alive. |
