Good quiz, love the games... I think for Morrowind you could perhapps add some of the smaller cities, but you should definitly do a quiz with all cities and all small towns (classified two or more buldings and 5 or more people.....just a thought

@DoctorSocks Oh god that'd be impossible..

Awesome quiz. One thing though, you should make it clear that we are taking main land Morrowind into consideration. A few of these cities don't appear in the game Morrowind, which mostly took place in Vvanderfell and this might confuse people as it did me.

What, no Hammerfell?

The cities chosen for Morrowind aren't great. What about Caldera, Balmora, Gnisis, Pelagiad, and Ebonheart (to name a few)?
Dec 3rd, 2011 at 17:02 GMT
And what are Nocrim, Tear, Narsis, and Blacklight? They aren't even on the map of Morrowind.
Dec 3rd, 2011 at 19:27 GMT
YAS 1/27! Go Balmora for being named similarly to my school!
Dec 3rd, 2011 at 19:55 GMT
I definitely missed a lot of Morrowind ones. Apparently Tear, Blacklight, and Narsis were in TES1:Arena. The Elder Scrolls wiki has nothing whatsoever to say about Nocrim, however.

It's Necrom. It's the Dunmer city of the dead...
Dec 7th, 2011 at 17:37 GMT
wow the Morrowind ones are completely and utterly wrong.

I do remember Zork! When I first played that I died repeatedly.

@ALL: This quiz is about the cities in the
, not necessarily those present in the
. So cities outside of Vvardenfell, yet inside the province of Morrowind are included.
(Not having played Morrowind for much longer than 2 hours, I couldn't name the cities myself. I found this map: http://www.giantbomb.com/morrowind/95-514/ and copied the locations marked on it. Admittedly Nocrim/Necrom is an error that must be fixed ASAP)
Apologies for the confusion.

completely stupid quiz; the selections in morrowind are arbitrary and the definition of a city nebulous and meaningless; the others are trivial
Feb 3rd, 2012 at 18:35 GMT
Why does the Morrowind list not even include Morrowind's capital, Mournhold?
Feb 12th, 2012 at 02:50 GMT
@nordeck52: this quiz used to contain mournhold, but as it was this quiz really wasn't fair. while the answers to skyrim and oblivion are clear by any criteria, the quiz used very arbitrary criteria as to what was a city in morrowind -- so mournhold was included, as well as other cities indicated on one particular map (specifically, the map of tamriel included with oblivion) but other cities were not. the result was that places that have never been featured in any game (save arena) such as tear and necrom were included, while cities such as kragenmoor, old ebonheart, and firewatch were omitted. the result was that the quiz-taker had to play an unfair guessing game where some of his perfectly lore-correct answers were wrong based on the source used in lore. since this quiz is "sporcle verified" (*rolleye*) i repeatedly reported and described the nonsensical state of this quiz to the people who run sporcle and they decided to change it to only the cities (using a definition of city that 4/5 lorepeople would agree with) included in vanilla morrowind, which is at least consistent for sporcle's purposes if not the most lore-friendly solution.

Whiterun, Markarth, and soloitude are the cities man. Winterhold is awsome because its just like Hogwarts.
Mar 22nd, 2012 at 03:15 GMT
Curious as to why you choose Gnisis over any other city in game of similar or larger size? Otherwise fine quiz.
Mar 23rd, 2012 at 01:16 GMT
just take the Morrowind ones out. Unlike oblivion and skyrim, there's no contrived artificial difference between towns and cities in morrowind, the lack of which doe not lend itself to quizzes.
Mar 31st, 2012 at 03:43 GMT
@aeviv, gnisis is a city of size comparable to the three vvardenfell council seats. i think this is a matter open to interpretation, but i would argue that because of its size, historical relevance, availability of merchant services, it is appropriate to consider it a city for purposes of lore (and no other settlement on vvardenfell other than the council seats and vivec should be so considered).
May 12th, 2012 at 16:43 GMT
Does anyone else wish Skyrim had 9 real cities like in Oblivion, instead of having half of them just be small settlements? I laughed at the Falkreath Jarl's arrogance given what a crappy hold he rules.
Jun 8th, 2012 at 16:39 GMT
@aestrivex I would argue that Ebonheart is equal (or greater than) Gnisis in all of the categories you mentioned.
Dec 14th, 2012 at 16:57 GMT
The best thing to do would be to add both Ebonheart and Mournhold to Morrowind, as no other cities would compete with those for the title of "city." Having both Ebonheart and Gnisis would mean that both Imperial-governed cities of Vvardenfell.
