	Lomax with 321 in only 8 years... yeesh, them Cardinals were bad. Odd that the same team led the league in FEWEST sacks allowed 3 times in the 70's (according to Dierdorf's HOF credentials).

	@Rayntrouble, I'll bet Lawrence Taylor had a disproportionately large number of the sacks of Lomax. It seemed like when the Cards played the Giants that Taylor lined up at fullback.....

	It's no surprise that the Bears only had Harbaugh, who probably played 1/2 of his career in Chicago. Once they get expensive, they're gone. Old Man Halas threw nickels around like manhole covers, according to Ditka.

	I love PFR, but I'm surprised they can generate stats for this prior to 1982, which is when sacks became official statistics.

	(1) Typically mobile QB's get dinged more by this measure because they try to make something of nothing and get tackled behind the line. (2) sacks only recorded recently for the defense, so may be undercounting old-timers (except they threw a LOT less pre-1978). (3) Stunned Mcnair is not on here. (4) P Manning has thrown as much as anybody here except Favre, and like Marino, he's not on the list. Pocket awareness and fast release. Get better, neck.

	Hey ajaxfm, if you want to pro rata it: Kreig had 213 games for his 494 sacks (2.319pg) [and he didn't start all of those], the Duke had 250 games for his 516 sacks (2.064pg). So Dave loses on that one too, as he does with pretty much any stat you want to use to compare him to Mr Elway. (particularly the important one: 2 Superbowls to Nil) Go Broncos!
