| I just love all the IGNORANT RESPONSES that everyone's posting: "I visited Italy/Japan/Uzbekistan/USA/etc, and couldn't find clean toilets". Folks, **THIS**ISN'T**ABOUT**PUBLIC**TOILETS**. It's about the percentage of the local population that has access to a toilet and sink (with drain) ******IN***THEIR***HOMES****** (versus having to go outside to do it). I too was surprised that SEVERAL countries and territories didn't make this list, like: Ireland, Chile, Czech Rep, Greece, Cayman Islands, Malaysia, Jordan, and the United Arab Emirates. If any of you bother to look up the source, all these countries are very close to 100%, like around 97-99%. Many more countries are also high up there, like Thailand at 96%. As for New Zealand, like Italy, there's no data but it's probably at or very near 100%. Like Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan also ranks high, at 98%. |
