I didnt know where the Baltic Sea was when I began the contest. Somewhere in Europe or Asia. I just started guessing countries and then guessing borders once I got Russia. Learned something new today and got 8 out of 9 doing it! :)

Silly me, I thought the Baltic Sea was the one by the Balkans. There was a moment of panic when Croatia didn't work, and then I remembered that was the Adriatic and the Baltic was up further north.

I knew the three Baltic States, so I went from there, with random guessing of countries in that neck of the woods. Only missed Demark.

Too much time. I had time to drive to the public library, find an atlas, look up the map of the Baltic Sea to double check, get a Starbucks, and drive back home to finish the quiz.

@skSK: I had time to visit the Baltic Sea, grow a tree, turn it into paper, write down all the countries that border the the Baltic Sea, build an airplane to get home, train a monkey to fly it, then parachute out into the ocean and swim the rest of the way.

As some posters mentioned, for Europeans, 2 minutes is too generous, but I guess I'd took 2 full minutes to list all nine (?) states on the Great Lakes. So it's fair to have more time for this quiz, but we demand more time also on U.S. quizzes, please :)

Funny story -- I got all of these really quick because when I was little, I had a circular "Countries of Europe" jigsaw puzzle, and the central piece said BALTIC SEA in big block letters. I practically memorized every single detail of that piece and the ones bordering it.

Why did I waste time writing Norway and Belarus? This isn't about the Baltic Sea BASIN *sigh*
