It's Baton Rouge, not Baton Rogue. Turned out to be the only one I missed.

I did horribly. :-( But I resisted the temptation to "cheat" (i.e., copy and past a state capital until I find the right slot). Boy, did I misjudge some city populations!

So you've used the 2010 Census figures for all cities (or all the ones I know/checked afterwards), but for Atlanta you've used what exactly? I assume you're one of the people who think Atlanta was extremely under counted and I'm sure you know this, but Atlanta's 2010 figure was 420,003.

Atlanta and Sacramento are switched.

I made this in 2009 - so probably before the 2010 cnesus and completely forgot about it until i got an e-mail saying it had been chosen as an editors pick. I will try and correct in the next day or so as I see many are now not correct.

I apparently have no concept of how big/small state capitals are. Except I knew Phoenix was the biggest, and I happened to pick the right one for St. Paul because I knew its general population (I live in its "twin," after all). Everything else? I was hopeless.

Something weird happened for me... Juneau and Olympia did not show up when I tried them... in every blank spot on the board. I gave up for that reason... did anyone else have trouble?

@montyque: I had the same problem with Des Moines & Denver. I tried both every single space.

That was a blast. Don't think I've ever typed so fervently for that long straight. And still nothing to write home about. Excellent, excellent quiz.

That was tough. I only got a couple before random guessing - Des Moines because I live there, Madison because it's proportionally about the same as Des Moines, Pierre and Montpelier and Phoenix because I happened to know that, and St. Paul because I grew up there.

I live in Maryland, and I knew Annapolis was incredibly small, so I just started to guess it for all the lowest population boxes and it was definitely one of the smallest! Also, I have no idea how some people know the population of capital cities. That's so difficult to remember!
