| Typical ESPN quiz. Completely arbitrary and unsubstantiated. If we are talking strictly athletic ability and not dominance of the sport, why on earth would Gehrig be on the list and not Willie Mays. In addition to being a great hitter, Willie was possibly the greatest defensive center-fielder of all time. A position which requires much more athletisism than first base. Wilt Chamberlain? Are you serious? Chamberlain dominated the sport for several years because he was far bigger and taller than anyone else in the sport. Does anyone really think Wilt was a better athlete than Oscar Robertson, or even a Clyde Drexler, Shawn Kemp or many other players who were clearly better athletes? And if Bo Jackson is on this list, there's no way Deion Sanders shouldn't be on it. Okay, I'm done venting. |
