	Typical ESPN quiz. Completely arbitrary and unsubstantiated. If we are talking strictly athletic ability and not dominance of the sport, why on earth would Gehrig be on the list and not Willie Mays. In addition to being a great hitter, Willie was possibly the greatest defensive center-fielder of all time. A position which requires much more athletisism than first base. Wilt Chamberlain? Are you serious? Chamberlain dominated the sport for several years because he was far bigger and taller than anyone else in the sport. Does anyone really think Wilt was a better athlete than Oscar Robertson, or even a Clyde Drexler, Shawn Kemp or many other players who were clearly better athletes? And if Bo Jackson is on this list, there's no way Deion Sanders shouldn't be on it. Okay, I'm done venting.

	i completely agree with wilt and gehrig, but this is where i got it from..http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=degree/list_allaroundathletes they make arguments where most of their reasoning comes from if an athlete played more than one sport or could have played more than one sport. i dont agree with some of their reasoning, but thats where it comes from

	If we're talking athletic ability, I can think of 1,000 hockey players who should be on there before a single baseball player.

	if it's about playing more than one sport, at least put joe mauer in there. He was national high school player of the year in both baseball and football. He commited to play quarterback at Florida State before signing with the Twins as the #1 overall pick in the MLB draft. He has since won 3 batting titles and an MVP award.

	Chamberlain ran track (hurdles I believe) and was more than just a big body. He was considered an outstanding athlete with great running and leaping ability. Those qualities are typically what people consider when determining athletic ability. Don't make the mistake of thinking big=unathletic.

	And to the guy saying Bo was better than Winfield athletically, I believe Big Dave was the only man ever drafted in 3 different major sports leagues (MLB, NBA, NFL). He was a great hitter and pitcher in college and with his size and speed could do anything on the field.
