| They're both excellent movies. One particular thing I love about the 2nd version is that the accused is Hispanic, and the actor who plays the racist Juror #10 is Mykelti Williamson, who is black (he also played "Bubba" in Forrest Gump). It adds a new dimension to the film because when Juror 10 goes through his racist tirade about how people like the accused are violent, "always drugged up," and "don't care about human life," he doesn't realize that everything he says has been used to describe his own race. This fact, however, doesn't stop him for a second from judging *others* based on the color of their skin. Just an interesting, true-to-life aspect of racism and ignorance. |
