I don't know if it falls under "bug" or "intentional feature", but it was nifty being able to reverse engineer a couple of the bigger cities by looking for populations shared by several letters and unscrambling/figuring out which letters were repeated.

Why is Dunkerque only showing as a "bonus" for Q? It is the correct French spelling. You are not using other anglicised spellings, otherwise "Rheims" would show up under H.

Hope this isn't cheeky but if people enjoyed this, try the English version: http://www.sporcle.com/games/peterbullock/peasedown_st_john

@Triffid, Dunkirk is the common English spelling for Dunkerque, whereas Reims is more usual than Rheims in the English world (it's the spelling you find in all the encyclopedias including wiki). And this is an English speaking website, that's why I used these spellings, and used "Dunkerque" only as a bonus.

Montpellier killed me...I thought it only had one L :( Wasted most of the quiz on that! But really I need to learn more French geography.

^ I did the same thing I was piecing it together by the letters and never figured out I needed another l. Also Longwy totally looks like it should be in Wales rather than France.
