The point of Nonogram puzzles is to fill in each cell correctly. The numbers measure how many unbroken lines of safe squares there are in any given row or column.
To indicate a square is safe, type S. To indicate a square is unsafe, type X. "3" by itself would mean that there is a group of 3 safe squares in the row or column. "2 1" would mean there is first a group of 2 safe squares, and then a group of 1 safe square comes afterward with at least 1 unsafe square between the groups. The numbers on the side refer to the row, and the numbers on the top refer to the column.
