This quiz is like the classic game called "Mastermind". There are four colours, Red (R), Green (G), Yellow (Y), and Blue (B). You have to figure out the code to beat this quiz!
You have 12 attempts to arrange four colours in the correct order. Colours can be repeated and are entered as 4 letters. Example: RGGB. When you enter a pattern, symbols will pop up. ● means you have a correct colour in the correct position. ○ means you have a correct colour in an incorrect position. So ●○ would mean you have 1 colour in a correct position, 1 colour in an incorrect position, and 2 incorrect colours.

	Hey, if anyone finds an error, please let me know! With 256 combinations I had to account for, it's hard to check I didn't make any mistakes. Anyway I'm sorry with the whole "repeat typing the answer multiple times" to finish the quiz. I had the quiz going where getting the answer would finish the quiz right away but there was a huge bug that prevented that format from working. Anyway I hope all of you enjoy the quiz!

	Hey caramba, my bad I actually should've talked to you before contributing this. I thought this quiz would be fine because this quiz is NOT a test against time, only provides a finite number of guesses, and it provides a better score for taking fewer guesses which is exactly how Mastermind is supposed to be played. Yours is a race against the clock with infinite number of guesses. It is still fun but the strategy and logic for yours is completely different.

	If I recall correctly, you don't need to force answer in order here, since when you get a wrong answer, it will only show up as wrong for one slot, but a correct answer would still fill in everything. Or was I mistaken here? (Also, it would be nice if you showed what we guessed for each of the wrong answers too.)

	You're correct Aurora, but that actually isn't the issue with not forcing order. When I don't force order, the first guess works fine. However after the 2nd guess, the game just breaks. It's because I have multiple wrong answers per 'round' and some of the bonus answers stop working after the first guess. It's hard to explain really, it's a really odd bug. Also I know it'd be nice to show what you guessed too but I can't do that either. Well I can... but then there'd be a limit of one guess. I'd have to make 256 individual wrong answers, and I only have 300 cells to work with. However there's only 14 combinations of ● and ○ (15 actually but ●●●○ is not possible) so I had to group it that way to be able to have room to allow more guesses.

	i'm finding it hard to tell which spots the dots are referring to with no references, am i just reading it wrong?

	The dots don't give you any reference to any spot. That'd be a little too easy. The most guesses you'd need to solve would be 4.

	I typed in YYBB and got three solid dots. By my reckoning it should be two solid and one clear dot?

	I just tried YYBB and it comes out to 2 solid and 1 clear dot. I dunno if it was always like that or if a Sporcle admin already fixed it (I'm not sure if they check unpublished quizzes though). Either way though, I appreciate it when anyone lets me know there's something wrong with a quiz! Also thanks dru for the EP!

	This is a great idea, but one problem. You should be able to SEE your guesses, because among 12 it's gonna be hard to remember by heart everything you've guessed. Some can barely remember after 5, if they only see the results. Is there a way to make it display instead of just the results, like typing RGBY would show "RGBY - ●○○" instead of just "●○○".

	I agree that being able to see your guesses would be a HUGE improvement to the quiz. However (and I stated this in an earlier comment too), I can't do that. If I were to show the guess, that would mean I would need to use a separate cell for each permutation for each guess. There are 256 permutations so that would mean 256 cells per guess. With Sporcle's limit of 300 cells, that would mean you'd be stuck with 1 guess (or going the bonus answer route, infinite guesses). I tackled the problem of being able to allow multiple guesses by grouping the answers to each result. The good news though is that theoretically, I can make the quiz with 5, and possibly 6 colours to be exactly like the original game. I only stopped at 4 because it took me 3 days to put every code in its proper place and upping it to 5 colours more than doubles the number of permutations (from 256 to 625, 1296 for 6 colours). I'd rather keep my sanity.

	Not being able to see guesses actually helps steer you in the right direction. Rather than making random selections that you won't remember, you need to systematically go through the permutations, i.e. start RRRR and then move onto all of another colour, etc.
