	According to the source, this list is based on the following criteria: air pollution, access to drinking water, sanitation, infant mortality rates, prevalence of tuberculosis, density of physicians par 1000 people, undernourishment rates, and healthy life expectancy. The source also states that only 138 countries were included in the analysis due to incomplete data. I was somewhat surprised by this list-- I expected to see Japan on it, and I most definitely didn't expect to see the USA.

	i was also expecting japan and norway. and why not the USA? have you ever actually been here, or at least seen more than just the cities?

	I'm American... and a New Englander as well. I just didn't expect the USA mostly because of our obesity rates and high health care costs. But those are my own criteria, not the ones the list used.

	There are significant pockets in the US that are somewhat third-worldish in lifestyle and availability/use of proper health care and nourishments. I think this might account for the US's lower rating than Northern European nations (and Canada).

	I live in the USA. The fact is that the US is ranked 38th in the world in life expectancy (tied with Cuba), and 33rd in infant mortality (between Cyprus and Croatia). I'm pretty surprised the US is ranked so highly here, especially considering that Japan is 1st in life expectancy and 3rd in infant mortality.

	Some odd criteria to determine "healthy" (from the source) A lot of these nations appear at the top of obesity and alcohol consumption lists...also why is TB used as a definitive disease? Don't see how a nation like the UK (with higher life expectancy, free healthcare and lower rates of obesity than places like the USA) doesn't make this list.

	The criteria do seem a little odd - I don't think it makes much sense to mix general measures of health (life expectancy, etc.) with contributing factors like air pollution and instances of specific diseases - but then Forbes lists often seem to be a bit suspect. I wouldn't be surprised if they decided which countries they wanted to be near the top (to make for an interesting article) and then massaged the criteria to achieve that result.

	I would imagine that the prevalence of tuberculosis was chosen because it is an indirect way to assess the access to health care.

	Germany sure has a lot of doctors... But once really depending on them, you'll notice that most of them suck! Grets from a desperate German! :-D
