This is why names like Meghan and Catherine do not make the list even though they were popular - people used so many spellings and variants (Katherine, Catharine, Cathy, Katy, Katie, Caitlyn, Kathryn, Kathleen, etc. all get counted as different names. Also, boys names tend to be less trendy than girls' names. Michael and Christopher have been in the top 10 for over 25 years - that doesn't happen as much with girls names. |
