| Nice quiz (apart from Beethoven's dates, which have already been mentioned), although the list certainly gives room for argument - I don't mean that as a criticism of the quiz, I know you didn't devise it yourself. Including Hitler for trying to take over the world but not Churchill or Roosevelt for stopping him seems a bit incongruous. A bias towards science is understandable since, let's face it, science does have rather more influence on the world than, say, literature or music, but the selection of some of them is a bit odd - Newton and Einstein are obvious choices for the first two but Pasteur for the third? Given the effect of the development of nuclear weapons on the world politics of the last few decades, surely Oppenheimer should feature somewhere? And if you really think that the Apollo programme was that important (which I don't particularly), including von Braun for being the engineer who made it happen makes at least as much sense as including JFK for being the politician who wanted it to happen.
@brmistkrieg: You may or may not believe what Christians believe about Jesus of Nazareth, but trying to deny his existence is, to put it bluntly, fairly stupid. Presuming that you regard the Bible as complete fabrication, try looking up Josephus, Tacitus and Julius Africanus. |
