Just a guess as to the asterisks: with France you're counting Suriname and Brazil (rightfully so) and also the Netherlands (st maarten/st martin); with saudi arabia you're counting the bridge to Bahrain; with Tanzania and DRC you're counting the border over lake Tanganyika; and with Algeria you have the asterisk because it also borders the Western Sahara?

exactly! Serbia was a tricky one too because of it's dispute over Kosovo. Either way, they all make the list though of having at least 6
