| allizonk and mehmeh53: Since you were both confused at the terminology, I checked out Bingo in Britain (I'm just taking a wild guess that maybe you're not American?) I found that British Bingo callers announced the numbers in a different way than American Bingo callers, which I had not realized. American Bingo cards have B-I-N-G-O across the top, with numbers in columns under each letter. The balls are marked with a letter & number, so the caller will call "B-15", "O-75", "I-20", etc. After researching, I see that British Bingo has nicknames for each of the numbers, e.g., the "two little ducks" for #22. So I see how the call I put down would have seemed odd for people who are used to hearing nicknames for numbers. :) |
